Class Participation Waiver, Assumption of Risk & Release

Applies to: all live, virtual, in-person and recorded classes, masterclasses, coaching and events offered by The Collective Dance Agency LLC, doing business as The Collective Dance Agency ("CDA"), and the instructors and mentors who teach them.

1. Physical activity and health

I understand dance and movement training are physically demanding and involve risks, including muscle strains, sprains, falls, joint injuries, fractures, cardiovascular events and, rarely, serious injury. I confirm I'm 18 or older, in suitable physical condition to participate, and that I'll consult a physician before starting if I have any health concern, injury or condition. CDA classes are not medical, physical therapy or health advice.

2. My responsibilities

  • I'll train within my own limits, modify or stop any movement that feels unsafe, and rest when needed.
  • For virtual classes, I'm responsible for my space: a clear area, a safe non-slip floor, adequate room and lighting, appropriate footwear, and no hazards nearby.
  • I'll tell the instructor about injuries or limitations when possible.
  • I'll follow the instructor's safety guidance and the Community Guidelines.

3. Assumption of risk

I voluntarily choose to participate and knowingly assume all risks of participating, whether known or unknown, including risks arising from my own actions, my environment, and other participants.

4. Release

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release CDA, its owners, members, contractors (including instructors and mentors) and agents from claims for injury, illness, or property damage arising from my participation, except claims arising from their gross negligence or willful misconduct, or any claim that can't legally be released.

5. Recordings

Classes may be recorded. If my camera or microphone is on, my image or voice may appear in recordings made available to members.

6. Emergencies

In an emergency, I'll contact local emergency services. For virtual classes, the instructor may not be able to help directly.

7. Agreement

By checking the box at purchase or booking, I confirm I've read this waiver, understand it, and agree to it for every class I take with CDA until a new version is presented.
