EC Choreographers Summit.
A non-competitive summit where adult choreographers and dancers come together to perform original works in an intimate, professional setting.
Artistry over competition.
The EC Choreographers Summit is our answer to a question we kept hearing: where do adult dancers and choreographers go to perform once the studio and competition years are behind them? For most, the answer has been nowhere. We're changing that.
The Summit is a new model for adult performance — collaborative, non-competitive, and built around artistry. A 1–2 day gathering centered on original work, professional production value, and a curated audience. No trophies. No rankings. Just serious art in a room built to hold it.
This is CDA's long-term vision for the adult dance community — the beginning of a recurring performance home for the artists who never stopped moving.
Submit a work. Get on the stage.
Submit a completed or in-progress original work for consideration. Our curatorial team reviews every submission for craft, intention, and fit.
You'll present your piece over a 1–2 day event with professional production. Bring your own dancers, or be matched with CDA-recruited dancers.

You've got questions, we've got answers.
+Do I need to be Charlotte-based?
No. Choreographers and dancers can come from anywhere. We'll share travel and lodging guidance as the date approaches.
+Can I submit if my piece isn't finished?
Yes. We accept works-in-progress as long as you have a clear direction and can complete the work in time for the event.
+What styles are accepted?
All styles rooted in intentional artistry — contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, ballet, commercial, experimental, and hybrid work. If it's honest and well-crafted, it belongs.
+Is this a competition?
No. The EC Choreographers Summit is a curated, non-competitive performance experience built by CDA for adult artists. No trophies, no rankings — just artistry and community.
+When will applications and auditions open?
We're building the waitlist now. The stronger the interest on both sides, the sooner we lock a date. Waitlist members hear first.
